Revitalizing Springfield Township Through a Planned Mixed-Use – Information About Warder

Progress on the Warder Nursery Development in Springfield Township continues. Recent feedback from the community has helped design a project that will greatly improve the existing amenities of the park-like setting and serve the need for a public gathering area with a mixed-use development, potentially consisting of office space, up-scale housing for empty-nesters, and boutique retail.

A critical step in the project took place on January 19th when the Finneytown School Board authorized a potential land-swap agreement with the Township. Through this agreement, The Board of Trustees has the option to trade the parcel of land currently serving as the school playground with Finneytown Schools for the contiguous Township-owned property located adjacent to Whitaker Elementary. This agreement provides a formal option for a collaboration to occur which would provide an appropriate entrance to the development and a safer location for a school playground. The agreement would only be exercised if a mutually beneficial development was confirmed.

As discussed during the December 14th public hearing, the Township’s master-development firm, The St. Francis Group, is continuing to market the site and will visit with potential investors for feedback and consideration. Temporary signs advertising the site’s availability will be posted at the entry points to the property on Winton and North Bend Roads. The signs assist in marketing the proposed development.

Residents can stay informed of the progress on the Warder site by visiting the Township’s website at www.springfieldtwp.org.
